We return to school January 5, 2015.

Honor's Assembly January 9 at 8:30.  We will have a regular school day after the assembly.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful Christmas presents you gave me this week.  I am so blessed to be here and I do enjoy teaching your children.  I hope you have a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing you again in January.

Reading 5 B

Story for the week - "Old Yeller and the Bear" pages 486-495.  We will read in class and complete a study guide.
Vocabulary and Comprehension Test will be Friday, January 9

We will begin AR for the 3rd 9 weeks.  We had a few students that had to really work hard to reach their goal the last 9 weeks.  Remember to read everyday.

Reminders

Our Christmas Party is Wednesday at lunch. Some still need to turn in $3 for pizza.  Students need to bring their own drink for lunch.  Don't forget your gift ($10-$15 limit) and snack food for party.

We will dismiss early on Thursday and Friday (Dec. 18 & 19) at 11:50.

Class Christmas Party

The 5th Grade Christmas Party will be Wednesday, December 17, at lunch.  Each student needs to bring $3 for pizza. They are also signing up for other snacks and candy for the party.  We are going to play Dirty Santa.  Price range for gifts $10-$15.

Also, thanks for all you do.  The BBQ baskets looked great last week!

PTO Christmas Store

The PTO Christmas Store will be in the cafetorium December 11, from 7:15 -2:00 and Dec. 12 from 7:15 - 1:00.

Band Concert

The Band will have a concert tonight at 6:30 in the cafetorium.

Reminders

The Christmas Lunch in the cafetorium will be December 16.  A form is in your child's folder. Our class will eat at 12:10.

The school PTO will meet December 16 at 6 pm.

School will dismiss at 11:50 on December 18 and 19.

AR for 2nd 9 weeks

The last day for AR this 9 weeks will be Friday, December 12.

Reading 5B

The story this week will be "The West Side" pages 284 - 295.  We are working on vocabulary and study guide in class.  Test will be Friday.

Language/Spelling 6 A&B

Spelling words are the same words listed on the blog last week.  Our test will be this Thursday.  We only have 15 words for this test.

Language - Verbs - The 4 types of verbs; present, present participle, past, past participle; using correct forms of verbs example - sit or set, rise or raise, lie or lay

We hope to be ready for the nest Unit Test by next Tuesday.

Reading 5B

We are reading "The Land That I Lost" pages 232- 241.  Students already have the Vocabulary List for this week.  We are reading in class and working on the study guide in class.
The Vocabulary and Comprehension Test will be Friday.

Remind students to read their AR books and test.  December 12 will be the last day for AR this 9 weeks.  We have some students that have not met their goal yet!!

Language/Spelling 6 A&B

The test will be next Thursday, December 11.

Language - We begin Unit 7 - being verbs, linking verbs, helping verbs, verb forms, and present and past participle. (pages 111- 122).
